This Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of information technology in a K-12 school district.
This includes both IT infrastructure and instructional technology.
The IT Manager will work to ensure the district's technology resources are reliable, efficient, and effectively support the educational needs of students and staff.
Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure:
- Assess and manage internet connectivity, reliability, speed and cost.
- Monitor and maintain server performance and capacity.
- Support workstations, tablets, laptops, smartphones, smartboards, and AV equipment.
- Mentor and develop IT team members.
- Oversee project management of IT infrastructure initiatives.
Instructional Technology:
- Work with Student Information Systems, including configuration, maintenance, and performance.
- Manage instructional technology toolsets, selecting and directing tools as necessary.
- Configure and support all instructional technology tools and applications.
- Configure and support all classroom hardware.
Leadership / Stewardship:
- Manage the performance of the IT team/staff.
- Establish and collaborate with the IT team to strategize the direction for infrastructure and instructional technology.
- Lead the IT Planning Committee.
- Develop and implement a 3-Year IT Strategic Plan.
- Innovate and improve all aspects of IT.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience building and growing IT operations teams.
- Certification or demonstrable experience with Quality Management Systems (ITIL, HDI, COBIT, ISO, etc.
).
- Previous budgetary responsibility.
- Previous experience managing IT Operations in a K-12 environment (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong professional presence and presentation skills.
- Strong analytic and data reporting skills.
